Overnight & weekend support
Sleepovers, active overnight support, and the Saturday and Sunday shifts a lot of providers decline.
What this support is
Support outside standard business hours: evenings, overnight sleepovers, active overnight support where you need someone awake, and weekend and public holiday cover.
Who it might suit
People come to us for overnight and weekend support for all sorts of reasons. A few common ones:
- You need support getting to bed or through the night
- A family carer does the overnight support and needs to sleep
- Your weekends look nothing like your weekdays and your support should reflect that
- Your current provider covers Monday to Friday and stops there
What support can look like
Clear about which type
Sleepover and active overnight support are different things with different costs. We explain the difference and recommend what you actually need.
The same faces overnight
Overnight support with a rotating cast of strangers does not work. We keep the group small.
Weekends treated properly
A Saturday shift gets the same briefing and the same written note as a Tuesday.
Honest about capacity
If we cannot staff a Sunday, you hear it immediately rather than the day before.
How Gold Coast Devoted Care is different
This is the part of the market most providers quietly avoid. It is also where people are most often let down. We built the business to cover it.
Before any support begins, our Founder & Director meets you in person to understand your routine, preferences, communication style and goals. The worker match is made from that conversation.
What happens when you get in touch
- You call, email or send the form — no NDIS terminology needed.
- We reply the same business day and ask a few practical questions.
- Our Founder & Director meets you, usually within a couple of days.
- We confirm the worker, share your plan with them, and tell you who is coming.
- Support starts, and we check in after the first shift.
Where it is available
Across the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane South. If you are just outside those areas, ask anyway.
Funding. We support Plan-Managed and Self-Managed NDIS participants, and private clients. Our rates sit at or below the NDIS price limits, so there is no gap for you to pay. Gold Coast Devoted Care is not currently a registered NDIS provider; registration is underway.
Overnight & weekend support — common questions
A sleepover means the worker sleeps at your home and is available if you need them. Active overnight means they stay awake because you need support during the night. They are funded differently, and we will help you work out which one your situation calls for.
Yes. Public holiday rates apply in line with the NDIS pricing arrangements, and we will always tell you what it will cost before the shift.
Absolutely. A lot of our support begins as weekend cover alongside another provider who covers weekdays.
