Domestic assistance
Cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and the day-to-day running of your home — without taking it over.
What this support is
Practical help around the house: cleaning, laundry, changing bedding, tidying, meal preparation and the general upkeep that makes a home comfortable to live in.
Who it might suit
People come to us for domestic assistance for all sorts of reasons. A few common ones:
- Keeping on top of the house is taking energy you would rather spend elsewhere
- Certain tasks — the bathroom, the floors, hanging washing — are difficult or unsafe for you
- You would like to cook more but need someone alongside you rather than instead of you
- A family carer is doing all of this on top of everything else
What support can look like
Your home, your standard
We follow how you like things done, not a generic checklist.
Alongside you where you want that
Cooking together rather than for you, if building that skill is one of your goals.
Consistent and predictable
The same worker, the same day, so you are not explaining where the vacuum lives every week.
Honest about scope
Domestic assistance is not a commercial clean and we will tell you plainly what is and is not realistic in the hours available.
How Gold Coast Devoted Care is different
Domestic assistance is where a lot of providers quietly cut corners because nobody is watching. We write a note after every visit setting out what was done, so you can see it.
Before any support begins, our Founder & Director meets you in person to understand your routine, preferences, communication style and goals. The worker match is made from that conversation.
What happens when you get in touch
- You call, email or send the form — no NDIS terminology needed.
- We reply the same business day and ask a few practical questions.
- Our Founder & Director meets you, usually within a couple of days.
- We confirm the worker, share your plan with them, and tell you who is coming.
- Support starts, and we check in after the first shift.
Where it is available
Across the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane South. If you are just outside those areas, ask anyway.
Funding. We support Plan-Managed and Self-Managed NDIS participants, and private clients. Our rates sit at or below the NDIS price limits, so there is no gap for you to pay. Gold Coast Devoted Care is not currently a registered NDIS provider; registration is underway.
Domestic assistance — common questions
Not necessarily. Many people prefer to be out. We agree access arrangements with you in writing beforehand.
General tidying and light outdoor tasks can often be included. Anything requiring specialist equipment or working at height sits outside what a support worker should be doing, and we will say so.
Yes, and it usually makes better use of your funding. We will suggest the most sensible combination.
